Founded by 20+ year music industry veteran, executive coach, a registered yoga instructor (RYT-200), and amateur potter, Sherry McAdams, the mission of McAdams Creative Management is to provide strategic development and support for creative people and projects.
Formerly the President of Marsalis Music responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the label, the management of existing partnerships worldwide and strategic planning for growth and expansion, Sherry has had a long and varied career in the music industry.
In Spring of 1992, Sherry began her career as the tour merchandise vendor for Sire Recording artists, The Judybats, during their two month domestic tour. Later that year, she joined Wilkins Management Inc. as the company’s receptionist. Starting at the bottom, she quickly attained a senior management position working directly with the company’s founder, Ann Marie Wilkins, on the development and implementation of a variety of projects for key client Branford Marsalis. In addition to the coordination of worldwide tours over the years, these projects included his jazz recordings, the experimental Buckshot LeFonque projects; various film/TV appearances, soundtracks, a ten-year tenure as the host of NPR’s popular jazz program, “Jazzset”; two classical recordings and a thriving career as a soloist with some of the world’s leading orchestras. This led to her involvement in the development and launch of his independent label, Marsalis Music.
Before joining WMI and Marsalis Music, Sherry received her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Yale University in 1990. In 2010, she completed the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology’s Executive Coaching and Organizational Behavior program. In 2012, she left Marsalis Music to travel extensively in South America. With the launch of McAdams Creative Management, she offers her particular brand of level-headed, clear-eyed vision based on a wide variety of experience and expertise, and characterized by her authenticity, integrity and unwavering commitment to her clients.
