MCM is pleased to provide ongoing marketing consultation and promotional services for All Music Books.
Long-time industry veteran, Steven Jurgensmeyer, has launched AllMusicBooks, a highly focused site with over 4000 titles, that looks to become the go-to place for books about music. Citing his own passion for both music and reading and the lack of an online community in which to explore and discover new books, Jurgensmeyer selected web development firm, Indigo Digital, to create AllMusicBooks. Launched in September 2013, the community at AllMusicBooks makes it easier for readers to find their next favorite book about their most favorite bands.
Recognizing that recommendations from friends had the most influence on his own reading selections, Jurgensmeyer set out to build a community where readers share their knowledge and opinions with one another. “Some of the more interesting conversations I’ve had over the years have revolved around music: who’s the next big thing, which is an artist’s greatest album, what are the ‘must-read’ music books,” he says. “And I found, in my spare time, I always had a book about music going. I also found I wasn’t alone and thought it would be cool to provide a forum where fans can review, discuss, rate and recommend those books to like-minded fans.”
With free registration, fans can not only add their own reviews or rate the books they’ve read, but they can also rate other reviewers and their reviews. These user-generated reviews and interactions lead to interesting debates. “We believe everyone who cares about music has something interesting to say and hope they will add their voice to our community," Jurgensmeyer says.
About AllMusicBooks:
AllMusicBooks is a self-organizing community of people who love music and reading about it. Users can find books, read reviews and even write reviews for books in every genre of music, from Rock to Rap to Folk and everything in between. Users can find new books, submit their own reviews and see what books other users are recommending. This provides a perfect environment for lively discussion of what is a very passionate subject to many: music.
AllMusicBooks is the new project of Steven Jurgensmeyer, a former creative director for record labels like Rounder and Ryko.
